conflicts

Conflicts

Its funny sometimes how events turn out

What goes through your mind

And what goes through your heart

How there is a delicate balance

Between yourself and another

Whom you love more than life

Yet, something happens along the way

Gestures you make, sentences you say

Actions you take

They all form this new being

A being, unlike yourself and yet,

Is yourself.

This being, like a parasite, consumes you

And your thoughts, feelings, emotions, actions

Until you do not know what YOU are doing

Then you look at the person next to you

You see in the eyes of a loved one

All emotions, all thoughts, all feelings

And you sulk, sink, shrink, shrivel, seep away

From this reality that has just been created.

Your loved one begs for answers

But you have nothing to add.

You want to run, run away from this situation

You want to scream, scream as loud as you can

You want to cry, cry with all your heart

You want to embrace, embrace the person you love

And never let go.

But you do not, you do none of these things

Why sometimes you do not know yourself.

You want to do everything for this person,

But at the same time, you are afraid to.

Afraid of weakness, afraid of desire

Afraid of feelings, afraid of love.

Perhaps, but perhaps not

Maybe, you are afraid of letting go.

Letting go of the reality you have created,

For this reality that someone else sees.

Maybe you are afraid of being seen by someone,

The idea of being open and vulnerable

Makes you run and hide.

What do we have to fear, but ourselves.

But is this fear greater than love.

Is this anxiety more potent

Than the touch of another.

We are so concerned with our own desires,

That we lack vision.

The vision of someone who knows you are great

Who knows you are special

Who knows you are wonderful

Who knows you can be anything

Who knows you can do anything

Who knows you, more than you know yourself.

And the person who know all these things

Wants the most for you,

But who only wants you,

To be near, to be held

To be kissed, to be loved.

What is greater than a person

Who wants everything for you

And nothing from you.

Its a little bit funny,

This feeling inside.

Im not one for words or feelings,

But if I was,

There is only one phrase I would say to you

I Love You
